I was going to quilt today , but got called into work for a 6 hour shift.
Lucky I had had my breakfast already.....

Work was really busy too which was great.

Tonight I have been stitching hexies.......only one row left to stitch , then on to joining the rows.

I hope I get to sew tomorrow.

The girls laid 5 eggs today.

A Working Day.......

Today was busy with chores and work.
I'm glad work was busy.......
I don't like being bored.

The car had a service.....I'm glad it doesn't need one of those to often.
I'm extremely happy nothing needed doing to it......or I may have died on the spot looking at the bill.

I had to go shopping for DH after I picked up the car......he is going camping with mates for a few days so he needed some food.
So it's just me and the boys..........
Zachary will go out Friday night and stay.
Jacob doesn't like camping and I have to work.

The school holidays are over and it's back to school tomorrow.
I'm not sure who will have more trouble getting up in the morning me or Zachary.

No sewing today........I caught up on some 'Bones'

Can You See It.........

I think yesterday did DH and I in.
Not that much was done today.

This morning DH and I took Grandma to town for some much needed shopping.

DH did unload the trailer of it's load all over the roses.......and we pulled out some old vegieplants.
I did get my knees dirty kneeling in the dirt finding bulbs that DH was digging up.
We dismantled a little bulb garden.....so now I have 2 ten litre buckets of bulbs.

Out the front I encounted this little creature..........can you see him ?

He blends in well.......

A Frilled Neck Lizard

 I coaxed him out into the sunshine.

The mesh for the cementing all in place........

And for the big slab.....which I'm not looking forward to doing ( don't tell DH )

And from another angle with the old fridge that will be cemented in to use for drinks.

I have sewn a few hexagons together today....

Wash Day........And Stuff

I thought I would show some quilty love today , as I haven't posted anything quilt related for a while.

It was wash time for this quilt as the boys had been using it.
I made it a very long time ago......
There was a 'picture only' of it in a 'Lady's Circle Patchwork Quilts' magazine and I really liked it so I drafted it up.
Mum made one with a black floral print , pink and cream and it is stunning.
I also washed DH's little trip around the world.

DH and I have had a really busy day......
DH finished shoveling the sand into the hollow of the pizza oven / bbq.
Then we put in the cementing mesh......so it's ready to go.
We set up the frame and mesh for the next slab of concrete that is going down next to the other.

I forgot to take a photo of it with the mesh.

We have finally filled the skip bin.......
We sure shifted some stuff today.

We took a trailer load of garden rubbish out to DH's old workplace to put in their burning pit and brought home a load of horse manure for the garden.

After we washed of the layer of dust ( we did earn our showers ) we drove to town to get tea.

Busy Busy..........

We have had a productive day......cleaning , again.

Today it was the kitchen and Zachary's room.
DH thought I was a hoarder.......but Zachary is far worse.
His room is now less cluttered , clean and rearranged.

4 loads of washing was done too.

We had a few rests in between.
And we didn't work to hard.............

No sewing today.

Australia Day 2013

I hope everyone has had a very nice Australia Day......
The weather was glorious......beautiful blue skies.

DH and I finished the last layer of bricks on the pizza oven.
There is still some sand to go in.....so we have a base for the concrete.
Then it's on to building the oven.

We are very slowly getting there.

DH and I did our morning walk.....another 4 laps.

Zachary helped me make sausage rolls for tea.
And I also made rice pudding.......I'm bad!!

No sewing as yet today.

We are watching the T20 cricket match.

The girls laid 11 eggs over the last 2 days.

A Long Day........

DH and I drove to Melbourne and back home safely today.

We may have missed our morning walk ........... but we sure made up for it on the streets of the city.
I think we may have walked further than we usually do.

I did sew today while waiting for DH , who had an appointment.

I'm making another hexie bag ........
It will be for my brothers girlfriend.

We think a million mice are dead in our wall between the kitchen and the back room.......OMG.
It is really bad.
I have moth ball flakes scattered everywhere.

We didn't pick up the eggs........

It's Been...........

........another hot one.

DH and I made it around the trotting track 4 times this morning.
I was feeling ok at the end of lap 3 so we did another.

A very pesky mouse has died somewhere near our back room.
Today we pulled the room to pieces and no mouse......but it still smells like dead mouse.
I hope the smell goes away soon.

We drove Jacob to a friends house for the day.

When we got home we cleaned and rearranged his room.
More stuff for the skip bin.......
Zachary's room is next on the hit list.

DH and I are off to Melbourne tomorrow.......so I'm off to bed as it will be an early start.

No sewing today......too busy.

Nothing much to report today......

DH arrived home safely.

I picked up Zachary's school books as school goes back next week.

I had to work an extra hour today that I didn't know about.
And work was busy....so that makes for a happy me.

The supermarket was a crazy place , people everywhere.

DH and I are watching the cricket.
Australia may win......

A No Sew Day..........

I like the busy rush of Tuesday at work but not the 6 hours of standing in one spot.
It was so nice to put my feet up when I got home.......

DH is having a good time.
They spent the day along the Great Ocean Rd........ fishing and sight seeing.
They went as far as Apollo Bay and back to Geelong through the Otway ranges.

I ran into two friends today before I started work , one was  Kylie and the other was Elaine who I haven't seen for a long while.

I didn't sew today......
