Had a visit with Grandma when I got home.

The eggs were forgotten tonight.

Until Next Time.

Sunday 29 April 2012

Delightful....

I have hit a wall.
I'm nearly asleep....

I finished quilting my bag.
Yay.
So I hope the rest of the bag goes together quickly.

It all trimmed neatly.

Mum has her's together.
Now she has to quilt it.
Also her handles are sewn together.

DH arrived home safely from his fishing trip.

The girls layed 3 eggs today.

Early Start

Well it was a very early start this morning as I had to go to work.
Same again tomorow....
I really didn't want to get out of bed.
But that is nothing new!!!

As you can see I haven't many more hexie's to quilt.

10 left and 2 half ones to go.
I may finish them tomorrow....who knows.

These bits are my handles.
It is going to be a very scrappy bag.
Except for the lining , the bag will be made out of 2 charm packs.
I am going to put inside pockets in it as it will be an everyday bag.

I have another project I'm working on that I need to go to the hardware store for.
I forgot to go today, so I hope I remember tomorrow.
It is something for me for work.

The girls layed 6 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

A Delivery...

Look what was in the mail box today.

Vintage Modern.
Six charm packs.

I took Grandma to town today to do some shopping.
Mum came for a drive.
When we got home and unpacked the groceries ( thats just as bad as grocery shopping ) Mum and I had a hair dressing session.
We both now have no grey hair ( for a couple weeks ) lol.

So I didn't get out in the sewing room today.
Might tomorrow afternoon after work.

Intruder...

A very nasty little dog dug his way into our chicken yard this morning and killed one of our half grown chickens.
I tried to get close to it and it was going to bite.
Finally it went back under the fence and I filled in the hole and put something in the way.
 I hope it doesn't come back !!
Ever !

I basted my bag.

And have started to quilt it.

A close up of the quilting.

And another.
I love this paisley print.
I have quilted half of the hexie's , so maybe tomorrow I might finish it.

Mum was busily sewing her hexie's together.

And the other rows still to add.

Jacob is in bed with a bucket. ( just in case )
He has migraine.
If I hadn't taken 4 nurofen I would be joining him.
I haven't had a headache this bad for quite a while.

The girls layed 7 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Anzac Day

I can say that today's weather was much better today.
Not by much , but at least the sun was out.

We didn't go to the Anzac Day parade today.
We should have though....

Zachary didn't even get out of his P.J's.
Jacob went to a friends house all day.
And I finished sewing the hexie's for my bag.

I like the muted effect of these fabrics.

Then I sewed on the top and bottom strips.
Tomorrow I will trim , baste and start the quilting.....

Mum has started sewing her hexie's for the bag too.

The girls layed 8 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

It's Cold Enough.....

.......to freeze the balls off a brass monkey !!!!!
After a frost this morning , the sun came out and the sky was blue and I thought it was going to be a nice day.
Wrong!!
The sky didn't stay blue for very long.
It is so bloody cold.
It has looked like rain all day.
And it has tried to rain a few times too.

DH and I did a few errands today.
Over to Nyah West to go to the chemist.
Then to the Nyah general store to check the mail and get some things for DH's fishing trip.
He has had this planned for quite a while , it's an annual thing.
I actually stated my blog last year when they went. ( they went in May last year )
They are going to freeze their toe's and other things off at Mt. Buller.
Camping in the mountains this time of year , no thank you !
At least he is going with some really good friends he has known forever , so if he has another
"episode " they will look after him.
He is feeling much better now.

Mum called in today with some old family photo's that where in Aunty Fay's things.
I don't think my cousins wanted them.
But they will have a very loving home until I die.
The original Wedding photo of my great Grandparents who both died very young leaving 5 young children to be cared for by various relations.
My Grandma being the eldest at 14. Grandma Linda was my mums mum and she died when I was 14.
There are some photo's that I haven't seen before.
There is one there that is of me when I was pregnant with Zachary that I didn't even know that Aunty Fay had taken.
We have quite a few family tree books , four different ones on Mum's side and one on Dad's side.
I love the history and just to read about their lives is great.
I should have been born 150 years ago.....

Mum also has finished 3 more Rose Stars.

That Time Again

My darling DH , this morning ,  gave us a scare.
I recieved a call saying  " Don't worry he is alright , but he's in the hospital. He's fainted. "
When your husband is a police officer , one doesn't like those calls.
All test's came back clear.
They have put it down as a " migraine episode "
He does suffer from migraines but only with loss of vision for a bit then the headache.
They are going to refer him to a neurologist just to be sure.
So he gets to spend the night in hospital.

It is that time of the month again ( not what you think )
Our sewing get together, with some of the Sunday girls.
Only 4 of us today...
Mum was on her way home from South Australia , so she wasn't there.
And a couple others couldn't make it.
But we had a nice time anyway.

I have been sewing the hexie's together for the bag I'm making.
Row 5 is nearly attached , which leaves 1 to sew.
I hope to finish it by next month.
We always talk to much on our Sundays......It's a wonder we get anything done.

The girls layed 8 eggs today.

Yellow flowers are my favorite.

Relaxing.....

This morning we awoke to the first fog of Autumn.
It didn't last long and the rest of the day was beautiful......
I did another walk around the garden and took more photo's.

This is the best pink rose I have seen , colour wise.
I just love it.

A bud on the same bush.
The view is from Grandma's front step looking up towards the backyard.

I only did minimum housework this morning as DH was sleeping ( night shift again )
So I have basted more hexies and started sewing a few too.
Also I have been reading with my feet up......they needed a rest.

No alarms tomorrow so hopefully we can sleep in.

The girls layed 8 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

I snuck in some stitching before work this morning.

And added a couple more hexie's tonight.
I hope to finish it tomorrow.

I am so looking forward to Friday.
It's the start of a three days off.

The girls layed 17 eggs over the last 2 days.

Tuesday 17 April 2012

Beautiful Day's.....

As I didn't start work until 12.30pm today , I did a walk through the garden and took more photo's.
The weather is glorious...............Just beautiful.
Yucca
I planted this young plant sometime last year , and I can't believe it is flowering.
The Yucca that was here when we bought our house took years to flower.
For a plant that doesn't look very exciting , it sure does have a stunning flower display.

I spent a little time in my sewing room this morning.
Sorting fabrics into groups of three for my Diamond Hexie's.
So I did do something sewing related....lol.
Just not with needle and thread.

Worked late tonight.
Finished at 7pm.
I don't think I could of stood there for much longer.

The eggs didn't get picked up tonight because we didn't get home until 7.40pm.
Zac stayed after school in Swan Hill to go shopping and he also had drum lessons.
DH picked him up from my work so he could take him to Blue Sky.
It's a outdoor and camping shop.
Zac got what he was after.
So we will have double the eggs tomorrow.

Until Next Time.

Monday 16 April 2012

Indian Summer

We have been experiencing some very nice warm weather.
Very high 20's.
The roses have all gotten their second wind and are blooming beautifully.

I watched "The Voice" again tonight.
OMG........
Can't wait for tomorrow night.

No sewing today.....(or reading)

The girls layed 8 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Sunday 15 April 2012

Sunday..Sunday.....

Well this afternoon , after getting home from work , I have been very lazy and have nearly finished a book I am reading.
I have been watching some football , doing some washing , cut DH's hair , helped DH wash my car and also helped DH make Cream of Celery soup.
And even if we did make it ourselves , it tasted great.
There's nothing like a relaxing Sunday afternoon.....lol.

DH starts nightshift tonight , so I will need to put another quilt on the bed.
The boys go back to school tomorrow for term 2.
As much as they would like to stay home forever.......

"The Voice" started tonight and I just had to watch it.
I like all the singing shows.

I have started another Diamond hexie...

The next round is a gold colour.

The girls layed 7 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Saturday 14 April 2012

Gardening.....

I saw a few faces that I knew come through work this morning.
And some I had to wave too......lol.

Well I was going to sew this afternoon but I had a little rest with my feet up.....

Then.....

See this.
Well DH dug it up.
It has been living in the rose garden out the back for a very long time.

Now we divided them up and planted out a new cactus garden.
It is against my sewing shed.
We will do a fancy edge when we get around to it.

Grandma came over and visited and watched the football with us.

I have been reading ( inbetween Grandma talking to me )
She is a person that knows you are reading but still talks to you.

The girls layed 7 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Friday 13 April 2012

Oh, My........

aching feet.........after standing in the one spot for 7 hours.
I never realized how many people came through the fuel station.
Lots.
They don't stop , they just keep coming and coming......
Enough about work.

DH and I are watching the football as I write this post.
Go Carlton !!!!

More of the fabrics that arrived yesterday.
These will go into my Diamond Hexagons.
Well some of them....

Some charms that will turn into a quilt for my Etsy shop.

And a Jelly Roll and some yardage.

I have my sewing machine back.
Yay!!
I picked it up this morning , so lets hope it is sewing right.
I may get some sewing done tomorrow after work.

The girls layed 9 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Thursday 12 April 2012

Finally.....

I have sewn the last row of my hexie bag.
And have started to sew the rows together.

I desperately need a new bag so I have to finish it........lol.

Tuesday when we went to Bendigo , I bought these fabrics at Spotlight.
Great for my Diamond Hexagon quilt.

Today , FINALLY after 5 weeks my fabric arrived from the Fat Quarter Shop.
Praire Paisley 2.
Do you see my Apple Core in the background ?
Some of this fabric is going towards the Apple Cores.
Some other goodies arrived but will show them another day.

No. 12
 Mum has finished another block.

Her blocks so far.....

I'm not to sure how much sewing I will get done in the next week as I have to work for the next 7 days.
I don't think I will know what hit me.........lol.

I finished a book this morning , as I was having breakfst and numerous cups of tea !!

The girls layed 10 eggs today.

A very pretty climbing rose.
Until Next Time.
