Day 24..........

Melbourne is at it's lovely best.......cold and wet !!!!!!!

We took the boys to 'Bounce'......a very big shed full of trampolines.

Day 22 And Day 23..........

Yesterday mum and I had a cuppa and catch up with Dianne as I hadn't caught up with her at all. 

So it was a hello and goodbye all in one go. 

Then we popped into see Kylie so I could say goodbye. 

After tea we went to DH's oldest brothers house to say hi/bye and have some drinks.....

Today was the first part of our trip home. 

We are now in Melbourne until we fly home on Wednesday. 

We have a few things planned to do while here. 

We are very looking forward to going home.

Day 20 And Day 21.........

Yesterday after the boys were picked up by my brothers ( they have gone hunting for 2 nights and a day ) DH and I went to Bendigo to meet up with his academy mates. 

The boys were supposed to come with us.....but they had a better offer !!

We had a very good time.........and a very late night. 

We did finally get to bed at 3am this morning.......so we are very tired. 

I drove us back to mums today........

And we veged out and watched a couple movies before we went to DH's brothers for tea. 

I can't believe I'm still awake........

But not for long.......

Day 18........And Day 19........

Yesterday we spent time with some of DH's former work mates for lunch. 

And a few drinks........

And then we went to tea with my brother and his girlfriend at the RSL club. 

We ate way too much yesterday......,

Today was mum and my little road trip.....

We went to Castlemaine to visit Threadbare quilt shop......

And then on to Bendigo to visit Little Blokes quilt shop too......

Day 17..........

Today we played tourist in our old home town. 

We went to the Pioneer Settlement. 

We watched the blacksmith for a bit......

It is in dock and has been for years.......but I climbed all over it.

We went on a horse and cart ride......and Zachary made a rope , which was interesting.......

And I had to get a tin of boiled lollies too.

Day 16........

Today the Sunday Girls all got together. 

So Kylie, Janette , mum and I traveled to Balranald to sew at Natalie's house. 

Simone is on holiday so she was there as she is staying with Angela. 

And Jenny was there as well. 

It was so nice to see everyone and catch up too. 

I did get some stitching done......

And 2 blocks for my 4" hexie quilt. 

Everyone was hand stitching whether it be embroidery, appliqué or piecing. 

I had the best day.......

I've missed my friends a lot ........!!

I'm meeting DH in Swan Hill for tea with some of his old colleagues. 

Zachary is with him as they have been cruising on the river on the BBQ boat. 

Jacob is with a friend.

Day 15.......Happy Easter.......

I hope everyone is having a good Easter break.......

Today I've cross cut my 12 scrappy trip sets. 

And I've basted a hexie diamond too. 

Other that that we have just hung around mums. 

Late today we went and picked up the camper........he enjoyed his shower. 

And we bought home KFC. 

Just some tv watching tonight.

Day 14..........

Today , mum the boys and I went to the Murrabit market. 

Then we went back to Swan Hill via Kerang as they had a quilt exhibition. 

It was small and there were a few nice quilts......,,

Gail's Emporium had a stall there and I couldn't help myself and bought this......

It has a pattern in it that I have wanted for a while. 

And I made spaghetti for tea........

The camper that is left will be coming back tomorrow.  

So another trip into Swan Hill for me 

No sewing today.........I was going to baste some hexies but we watched a movie........an oldie.....'Romancing the Stone'

Day 13........Good Friday.....

Today I ironed my last 12 scrappy trip sets.......

Mum cut out shirtings for hexies for her new project. 

An EPP one.......

I had to go pick up the boys as they had had enough of camping for now. 

So they are now nice and clean. 

Tonight we have watched 'Despicable Me 2'

I loved it.......

It's a day out tomorrow so I had better go to bed.

Day 12........

Today mum and I went to town to meet up with my old boss at the petrol station for morning tea. 

It was very nice to catch up with her. 

Then it was shopping for the boys. 

And dropping it to DH's friend to take out to them. 

Then we had time to wander around Swan Hill. 

It's been a very nice day too , weather wise.........

Mum and I are having a day out on Saturday too......off to the market and then the quilt show in Kerang. 

No sewing today.

Day 11........

It's been a quiet day at mums today......

A very relaxing day. 

I've finished this.......

I can't remember how many I've made , but it's a number under 70. 

I'll have to start adding more to my top. 

I've been reading too and I've been looking at magazines as well. 

I made tea tonight........something mum doesn't make as Bruce doesn't eat it. 

I'll make her spaghetti before we go home too. 

The boys are catching lots of fish. 

I have to go drop off supplies tomorrow.......

Day 10..........

Today has been spent at mums........

My brothers girlfriends girls have been here today as it's school holidays.....so it's been 'Dora the Explorer' and drawing/stickers/glue and glitter. 

I have gotten some hexie stitching done......

Not sure what number it is......

Now for mums show and tell.......

Mum has made this for my brothers girlfriend. 

This is a flannel trip around the world.......

And the 'American Patchwork and Quilting' magazine quilt along.......

And 2 baby quilts.......

One of them is for my cousins grandson. 

My feet have been cold all day......!!

I do not miss the cold. 

The boys are having a good time and some nice fish have been caught.

Day 9........

This morning I had to drop off something forgotten for Jacob , so DH met at the turn off to the river.......I wasn't driving down a muddy bumpy track !!

Then mum and I had a morning and lunch in town. 

We met up with my brothers girlfriend and her daughters and I also saw people I knew. 

And I should have done some stitching today but I didn't .......I'm bad !

I have been basting though.......while watching tv. 

We aren't going anywhere tomorrow so I should get something done. 

I'll have a show and tell of mums projects that she has finished lately.

Day 8........

Today was getting supplies and the gear ready for the boys camping trip. 

DH's brother took them out to the camp in his ute.......as the car we hired wasn't big enough. 

And this afternoon I've hung out with mum and watched tv and talked. 

I might get to sew tomorrow.......

Day 7.........

We had a blue sky this morning when we left Portarlington. 

And it got bluer as we got closer to Swan Hill. 

It seams to take forever to get there.......

We stopped along the way for some yabbies for DH to take for his week fishing. 

And the trip was too much for the boys..........

They don't read my blog so they won't know I posted this. 

They do not look comfortable. 

We passed a wind farm.......

  The windmills were on both sides of the road , spread over a very large area. 

They are huge.........

They were hidden in the foggy cloud on our drive down. 

Tonight we went to DH's mums for tea to catch up. 

And the boys are staying overnight at a friends. 

No sewing today.........

Day 6.........

We were going back to Swan Hill today but we were buggered so we have stayed in Portarlington for another night. 

We had a bit of a drive around.......Zachary wanted to throw his ball on the beach.......

Then we caught up with DH's sister and our new brother in law for tea at the golf club. 

No sewing today. 

But I did baste a few hexies.

Day 5.........

...........of our trip saw us go to DH's sisters wedding.

As it drizzled all day the ceremony wasn't held on the beach. 

We have had a great day. 

And we have just returned to our room.

Day 4........

Today has seen us drive all the way to Portarlington for DH's sisters wedding. 

We took our time as it rained all the way. 

The wedding is tomorrow .........

On the beach. 

With rain forecast all day......

No sewing today......but I did bring it with me. 

Our day started with very sad news.......

We are still in shock.

Day 3.......

......and my quilt shop purchases.

Now just to pick out which one to make. 

Today we dropped the boys at friends and we went to see DH's mum. 

And while in Swan Hill we saw friends and stopped to chat. 

Then to the grain shed to see DH's brother. 

Then back to mums for a lovely roast pork dinner. 

The boys wanted to watch a movie so we ended up watching Johnny Depp's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'

Then 'Resurection' we just might have to keep watching that show. 

We have a big day tomorrow so it's off to bed......

Day 2........

We traveled from Melbourne......... to Koraleigh today via Castlemaine. 

And we stopped at Threadbare quilt shop at Castlemaine. 

I will take pictures tomorrow of my purchases. 

A very beautiful shop.....!!!!!!!!!!!

It is nice seeing mum and Bruce again.......

It is a very small world because not far from Melbourne at the Calder park Macca's we stopped to get the boys some food and in the car park who do I see but Janette ( A Sunday Girl ) and her husband on their way home. 

And when we stopped at Bendigo for lunch we ran into one of DH's friends and his family........they went to the footy last night too. 

I had better go to bed and catch up on some missed sleep.......

I..........

.........was so busy yesterday that I forgot to post last night !!!!!

We got everything done and packed in plenty of time. 

The taxi was over 25 minutes late and after a few phone calls it finally turned up as we were just about to get in the car and take ourselves. 

We had an uneventful flight........

And I froze....!

I'm never getting on a plane ever again without a jumper. 

I'm usually too warm on a plane , but not this time. 

And it's just a little bit cold Victoria.......

Lol.......

We have gotten our hire car........and as we couldn't check into our motel room until 2.00pm we took the boys to the Victoria Market and then Crown and had some fun at the pinie parlour and had lunch. 

We got to the market that early some of it wasn't set up yet. 

Tonight we are going to the MCG to watch Carlton and Essendon play. 

It's been a while since we have gone to the footy. 

We hope Carlton win......but as they haven't won as yet we aren't holding our breath. 

As we haven't slept since getting up yesterday morning it's rest time for us until time to go to the football.

Holidays Are Here.......

School holidays have started......

There is only a week break between terms this holiday. 

So the boys will miss 12 days of school with all the public holidays that are in April this year. 

The Easter break and Anzac Day too. 

Tomorrow is packing day........

I've sorted some things out already. 

I've nearly packed my sewing case too. 

Today I cut the rest of my ninepatch squares........

.........85 blocks waiting .......!

My 2 scrappy trip blocks are in the box too......I've packed all my strip sets as well......I hope I get some time to sew them up. 

Tonight we had a BBQ tea with DH's work mate and family who live across the road. 

They will keep an eye on the house and get our mail for us. 

Tomorrow will be a very long day.......

I hope I can sleep on the plane.

One ...........

.........year ago today we flew to our new home in Darwin. 

And that happened to be my Birthday. 

I will get my present when we get home from holiday.......a lovely bundle of supplies from the Fat Quarter Shop......!!

Not that I really need fabric....but I just had to have some. 

Lol.......

DH drove me to my chiropractor appointment. 

Then we went shopping and I got 2 dresses on sale !!

Bonus........

Then we bought a mobile internet hub so I can have internet service while on holiday........I need to keep in touch with the blogging world. 

Its a pre-paid one which is good. 

Then home for lunch and off to work.......

It was busy as usual.......roast night tonight. 

I started packing my sewing stuff in a carry on size suitcase......do you think that will be enough to take with me ?

A Finish That's Not Mine.........

DH had an appointment this morning and then we quickly went to the supermarket. 

 

I got some washing done.......

And dried.......

Still have to iron though. 

While I was at work DH finished staining and putting back together his fish tank cabinet. 

Now we still need stones and a filter and the fish but that's for when we get home from holiday. 

Yesterday I wasn't even looking for this , but it caught my eye as I was leaving BigW........

I will take it with me.......

And this was waiting for me tonight.....

The new Homespun magazine. 

I will have a read tomorrow. 

I did sew.......but only some lace butterflies on to a top of mine that had 2 little holes.......

Now the butterflies cover them up. 

Now I can wear my top again. 

No rain today.

Shopping And Stuff........

DH and I went to the shops to get a few things to take with us on holiday.......a new suitcase was a must. 

After we watched the last 4 episodes of season 3 of 'A Game Of Thrones '...... Now it's a waiting game for season 4. 

Tonight I've been fiddling about in my sewing room and cutting out cream squares for my ninepatches.
