Monday , Monday

It's Monday again.
So that means back to work.

That very pretty cactus has flowered again. Just the one bloom this time.

A very nice surprise today as Simone came in to have a little visit.
Just another dentist appointment for her daughter, which gives her an excuse to go to a quilting shop. Lol.

When I got to work the boss told me that she was having a sale.
So we spent half the day marking and organising things.

I have done a bit of hexie stitching tonight.

The girls layed 12 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Another Finish

Today I made 2 more blocks for the JL QAL.
I haven't made any for a while.
Very slack, I know.
I have 2 more blocks ready to go.
Total made 18.
46 to go.

Mum has finished the second quilt today.
She likes to get a quilt top finished  ASAP from when she starts.
Which isn't a bad thing.
This is a plain nine patch and the other was the snowball and nine patch.
Now they will have to wait in line at the quilters to be quilted.

The happy campers came home just before lunch today.
Very tired.
And very dirty.

DH cooked the fish that he caught in beer batter.
So it was yummy fish for tea.

The girls layed 11 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

A Finish And A Start

This is what I have been doing today.
Other than the washing.

This is how I am making my apples.
If you look at Sue Daley Designs or her website  patchworkwithbusyfingers she has a tutorial on them.
In the above photo centre paper on fabric.

Glue down the ends, being careful not to make points.

 Then glue pieces together.

 Then applique together.
Then keep adding and gluing and adding and sewing and gluing....... you get the picture.

Then you will get something like this.
Take out the papers as you go.

A close up.

 Mum has finished her quilt.
She was very happy.

And she has the other one up on the design wall and half sewn.

An update of the babies.
They are enjoing some spinach.

Gorgeous.

The girls layed 15 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Remembrance Day

What can I do with these 1" HST?
The 2 " HST are next to them.
I have sewn a little today and did some cutting too.
And a bit of designing as well.
Talking.
Which makes us do things wrong or make mistakes.
Bugger !

As Zac is a school captain he and his friend Shane had the honour of laying a wreath at the war memorial today for Remembrance Day.
Then they had lunch at the RSL club.
At least they didn't have to make a speech this time as they did on ANZAC day.

I took the boys out to their uncles place on the river where DH is camping.
Our roast chicken was great , pototoes and pumpkin in foil in the coals.
Very tasty.
Zac is staying out there for the weekend. Shane, his friend, is getting dropped out there in the morning.
So at least he will company his own age.

Zac caught this fish 5 minutes after he threw his line in.
It went back in as you can't keep brim.

The girls layed 14 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Out To Lunch

I did a little bit more on the  "apples" this afternoon.
A bit more gluing and sewing.

 These 16 are all together.

I finally took a photo of Mum's Jelly Roll Quilt.
It's very bright and happy.

DH and I spent the morning in town as he had an appointment.
Then he took me out  to lunch.
Nice.
It is something that doesn't happen very often.
So it was REALLY nice.

When we got home DH packed up all the camping gear and boat.
One of his squad mates is coming up to spend a few days on the river with him.
I will take the boys out after school tomorrow.
DH is going to make a roast in the camp oven. Yum.

Tomorrow is Remembrance Day.
Zac and his friend Shane, are the school captains of their school , and are going to Swan Hill for the ceremony.

 More roses.

This tree is only 3 years old.
Look at the shade already.
It will be so nice to sit under in the summer.
The weather was so nice today, the sun was warm but the breeze was cool , a perfect spring day.

The girls layed 13 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

No. 46

Diamond Hexagon no. 46.
All done.
One more down. Yay!

Well,  it's Wednesday, the last day of the working week for me.
Would it be bad of me to say yay again?

It is storming at the moment.
Heavy rain.
Lightning and Thunder.
We have a small flood at the back door.
There's nothing like a good sound and light show.

The girls layed 32 eggs over the last 2 days.

Until next Time.

Nearly There

Well tonight I have done some basting and added them to  no. 46.

DH and I took Zac to band practice for the concert on the 25th Nov.
While Zac was practicing we did Grandma's shopping for her.

We didn't pick up the eggs tonight. Oops.

A pretty,  hot pink rose bud.

Until Next Time.

SOS

I have started no. 46,  it will have a dark blue outer ring.

Had a busy day at work today.
I also had a SOS call to break a dear friend out of the hospital.
I hope you caught the bus Nat.
I also hope that you had a great big dinner. Lol.

It's really starting to warm up too.

The girls layed 13 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Nearly Finished

Mum has been busy the last few days.
Her 4 blocks are together and all she has to do now is sew the little 1" squares around the outside.

This little pile of leftovers are from cutting the apple cores.
So I paired them up and sewed them together.
Then pressed the seams open and cut 2" half square triangles out of them.

So I will end up with 42 when I am done.

I have traced, cut, glued and sewed more " apples " today.

Mum has finished sewing the Jelly Roll Quilt and silly me forgot to take a picture.
When Mum presses it I will take a picture.
It's very bright, great for a baby boy.

And talking of babies.
Here are our newest ones.
They sure have grown.

The girls layed 17 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Apples Anyone !

Well , I did manage to get out in my sewing room today and have some fun.
This is the something I have been playing around with.
I'm using 2 charm packs that I have had for a while.
I know that you can order papers of the apple cores but I couldn't wait that long, so I drew up a template and got started.
I sort of have a plan of what I'm doing but that might change. Lol.

I will get some more done tomorrow.

The girls layed 13 eggs today.

Until Next Time.
