Sound And Light Show........

There is a thunder storm outside at the moment and I'm loving it. 

Constant lightning since before I finished work.......

And it's finally started raining......

DH stained the doors to the fish tank cabinet this morning......so I'll post a photo when it's all back together. 

It's looking very good though. 

Work was busy .......... always busy !!!!

I'll not complain about my legs today.....lol !

I did go into the sewing room tonight and pulled more pink strips to cut for my ninepatches. 

And found a few more creams to go with. 

So that might be a job for tomorrow.....

I need to start getting stuff together for packing......

And iron clothes too.......( I hate ironing )

Because Saturday night will come around very quickly.

Slow Sunday.......

After a bit of a sleep-in , DH and I went out and about driving here and there......more food for thought for us. 

DH had work this afternoon.......so I had a little sewing session with Kylie. 

I have cut all my ironed fat quarters.......

.......into tumblers. 

I've still many more to cut. 

And iron.......

I've a few half tumblers for the edges too........

And I've 2 scrappy trip blocks unpicked and sewn back together.......just need to press and sew them up. 

We had a heavy thunder storm early this morning. 

The rain was welcome as we were thinking of turning on the sprinkler system.

This morning DH and I did some running around.......

Not much to show for it.........but it gave us food for thought. 

Then just work for the both if us. 

I won't tell you that from the knees down my legs and feet hurt.........

And I've been on the computer since I got home wasting time........!

No sewing today.

Stuff........

It was off to the shops this morning to get food.......

Boring , I know......but it must be done. 

Then it was my FaceTime with Kylie.  

I even got some stuff done !

I've been cutting leftover pink strips into squares......for my ninepatches. 

This pile has 31 , so when they are done I'll have 59.......still a long way off finishing. 

I think I'll take them with me and use mums machine as it's the same as mine. 

I ironed these 2 strip sets and cut them. 

And I've been ironing fat quarters. 

I've 10 left to go.

I'm cutting these...........

.........to make one of these. 

I'm using 'Figtree's 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' and some of 'Millhouse Inn ' to make mine. 

The ironed pile........I might get some cut tomorrow before work. 

No alarms tomorrow........yay !!!!

Some Sewing Time......Well Sort Of !

Who would like to give me a foot massage.......?????

My poor feet !!!!!!

Ok, enough complaining from me. 

This morning I mucked around in the sewing room......

I basted this. 

And I also cut another diamond hexie out too.......

So I have a little bagie of those to take to baste and sew up if I want. 

I also cut some blue 2" strips to give to Kylie for her scrappy trip blocks. 

And then off to work I went. 

It was roast night ........ and it's a busy one. 

And I didn't get any dinner tonight either......so it's a cuppa and a couple bikkies in the solitude of my sewing room.

Buggered........

It's late again.........

I shouldn't have sat down when I got home.......because I just couldn't drag myself out of my chair. 

But I've now washed off the take-away smell and even washed my clothes. 

While DH sanded and stained the fish tank cabinet I did some more sorting and I even counted my 2" hexies I have basted.........let's just say I have more than enough to make my quilt.......

But I will finish basting what I have cut and I might make something else with them. 

My brother called in to say hello too........

He actually got to see DH this time.

Cutting And Basting........

Today was my chiropractor appointment........

Then we dropped off all our cans and bottles at the recycling depot. 

Then DH started finishing off the bottom section of the fish tank. 

I started cutting more blocks for my 4" hexies. 

And got more basted too......

I've one more block to baste.

Then off to the doctors for DH and Zachary. 

DH then put a leg of lamb on the spit.......and it was delicious  !

So before and while tea was cooking we watched 5 episodes of season 3 of 'A Game Of Thrones'

It's just like reading a book......I don't want to put it down.....lol. 

But we do need to sleep........

I may just have to read these books !

So no actual sewing today......but I'm still gathering for stuff to take on holiday.

I got some basting done today on my 4" hexies.......I might get time to cut more out tomorrow........as our holiday will creep up very quickly and I won't have much sewing to take with me.

Today has been a day of a 'Game Of Thrones' marathon. 

We are nearly through season 2.

Saturday Sleep-In.........

I nearly died when DH said it was 0945 this morning. 

Haven't had a sleep-in like that for ages. 

So not much got done this morning......

I read the newspaper had a leisurely breakfast and checked blogs and email and played games. 

Then off to the place called work. 

No sewing today.

Preparing.........

Today's been taken up with all the normal everyday things.......

Tonight I've been cutting and gluing new blocks for my 4" hexie quilt. 

I fussy cut this quartered hexie......it's different. 

And just a pretty floral one.......

I'm getting stuff ready to take away with me to sew. 

No actual sewing today.

Crazy Work Day.......

DH and I had to do stuff at the bank for the sale of the house this morning......

If all goes well we settle on the 10th of April. 

I gave DH a haircut too. 

I did get in some sewing as well.......

4 more nine patches. 

And my 28 blocks........

Then DH and I both went off to work. 

My work was crazy.........

Just A Work Day.........

As I've not done anything exciting today...........other than going to work , which is not exciting at all........I'll post the photo DH found on Facebook.

Home Safe.......

First up DH arrived home safely.......I know it's only a 20 minute flight but it's been windy today. 

We dropped his gear at the station and headed home. 

Now onto my parcels.......

The other one arrived today too.....,.

A jelly roll and 2 charm packs.

And the black stripe for binding. 

And charm packs........

And a magazine.......!!

And I might just have to make this out of it.......

I really like. 

We had take away for tea........DH hasn't had any for 3 weeks......so no dishes tonight. 

No sewing today. 

Just hanging out watching t.v.......

One More Sleep.........

After I vacuumed through the house this morning........I was naughty and finished the book I was reading. 

I did go in my sewing room but no sewing just thinking with paper and pencil. 

Then off to work I went. 

I don't know how much longer I can stand being on my feet for 7 hours straight........

It's not my actual feet it's my right Achilles tendon.......I've tendinitis in it and other than resting it I guess , there's not much else to do about it. 

I will be making a doctors appointment to see if they have any other ideas. 

Tonight when I got home I had mail !!!!!

Only half if what I ordered came today.... I hope the other parcel comes tomorrow. 

I'll take pictures tomorrow in the daylight. 

Tomorrow DH should be home.......can't wait.........I miss him heaps.

Sunday Sewing.........

After a sleep in and the morning jobs I headed to the sewing room.........

 And was joined with Kylie on FaceTime. 

And I stitched these 12 ninepatches. 

And these 2 scrappy trips........

My 24 ninepatches.......

And my 22 scrappy trips.......

Only 14 to go. 

I'm happy with today's effort. 

We have had thunder and some rain today as well. 

The cyclone that's been sitting in the gulf for a week or more is now a low again and heading out to sea. 

I hope it doesn't turn into another cyclone for the third time. 

Only 2 more sleeps and DH will be home........!!

Saturday Sewing........

I tried to sleep in this morning but it didn't happen. 

The garbage truck was very noisy this morning.........

I got some FaceTime in with Kylie too.....

Before I had to go to work. 

I made 6 more nine patches.........

Only 101 to go. 

And my 20 scrappy trip blocks.

A Day Off.......

After I got myself organized this morning I went to the supermarket to get some food so the boys wouldn't say there wasn't any food in the cupboard. 

I had a little drama after I had opened the garage door......because the power went off again and I couldn't and didn't know how to close it with no power. 

The power came back on after 20 minutes.........so I didn't have to guard the stuff in the garage very long. 

I have been on the phone a few times today too. 

Granny rang. 

And I rang mum. 

And I rang DH twice. 

Can't wait for him too come home. 

I just hope the cyclone and tropical low they hope it turns into has gone by Tuesday. 

Tonight after tea I have been face timing with Kylie. 

I've been stitching........

Three more scrappy trips.......

And 4 nine patches. 

And 2 more........

If I keep face timing with Kylie I might get some quilts finished.......lol ! !

Another unpicked and stitched back together. 

I also made a ninepatch block too. 

It rained again as I left to go to work.......!!

And work was busy enough.......

And I won't complain about my very sore feet today........

And I've got one sick boy.......

Jacob has a cold and sore throat and copped a migraine tonight. 

He's sound asleep.......his brother was his nurse until I got home.

I hope he feels better tomorrow......

Oh , My............

At 0315 this morning I woke up because I had gotten hot. 

The power had gone off......at 0120. 

All of Darwin and all the way to Katherine had no power.......

How could we cope without power.......?

School was cancelled .......

No traffic lights......

Banks weren't working.........

Businesses weren't open....,,,

The power came back on after they fixed the problem at 1100. 

Some areas got theirs earlier and some later. 

At least we had hot water......lol 

I had the little freezer in the fridge defrosted by 0800.......

I couldn't sew we iron my scrappy trip blocks so I pinned.......

........them ready to go. 

I did get these 2 this far before I had work. 

I did some hand quilting on the little purses too. 

And as always the heavens opened up just as I had to go to work. 

I hate driving in the rain.......

Well I'm naughty and have been watching t.v as well as writing this........I must just write and not watch as it's tomorrow and 0700 will be here before I know it.

Today was my chiropractor appointment......

And then I detoured home via Spotlight and Target. 

I got more zips........

Some iron on pellon.........

And basting spray........

And a couple fat quarters........

And after lunch I finished the last 2 scrappy trip sets. 

So I now have 21 blocks to finish. 

And we had an afternoon storm just as school finished ....... of course !

A Little Trip.......

DH organised for the boys and I to go visit him. 

So today we flew over for a few hours......as I had work at 2 pm. 

Zachary got to be co-pilot on the way back.........

I had an hour spare before I had to get ready for work so I FaceTimed with Kylie and stitched 4 more scrappy trip strip sets. 

And Zachary ............

We had a little rain today.

Sunday Sewing........

This afternoon I got to sew with Kylie again. ........

Until she had to go get her tea cooked. 

Then my sister in law came to pick up the cat. 

No more cat hair on the floor.....!!!

Yay!

Then Zachary and I dropped off his friend home. 

Then the boys did the dishes while I got our tea ready. 

Then I sewed with Kylie again !

I havc been sewing scrapy trip strips together.
