Entertaining....

Wow!
What a day.
I still have so much to learn.
I think I nearly have the console figured out.
I probably don't. Lol.
It is a very , very busy place......

Tonight we had a colleague of DH's and his family over for tea.
They have just moved up to Swan Hill from around Melbourne way.
Well they are actually living around the corner from us.
Their boys are a bit younger than ours but they had some fun.

No sewing tonight.

The girls layed 9 eggs today.

Birthday's.....

DH and I went to town this morning to buy chicken feed and do a bit of other shopping.
When we got home DH moved the stove out as we think the hole in the wall from the electrical cord is where the pesky mice are coming in.
I thought the mouse plague was over.......
We haven't had much luck with traps and we have bait everywhere , but the little buggers are still running around.
The cats aren't doing their job very well.

We cleaned the boys rooms and remade their beds.
Zac had had a visit from a mouse in his bed !!

Tonight we went out to tea for DH's Mum's birthday ( which was Monday ) and our niece who is 1 today.

So no sewing today.

The girls layed 16 eggs over the last 2 days.

Double Delight
Until Next Time.

This afternoon I started my  OH&S training at work. ( Occupational , Heath and Safety )
I start for real on Thursday.

This morning I cut some more hexies out.
After I finish the one I'm sewing I will have 45 left to make.
I don't think that I will finish it before I'm 50.......Lol.

As I wasn't home I'm not sure how many eggs the girls layed tonight.

All my boys are asleep.

One of the photo's from Sunday

I Started Another

Back to work in the church today!
It is starting to look like a patchwork shop too.
So not long to wait now.....

Tonight I have sewn a middle together while the boys and DH were watching a war movie.
I sort of watched  it too.

The girls layed 12 eggs today.

We also had visitors.
DH's brother and family came for a visit and my brother called around to see Grandma.

DH and I watched a movie too.

I took these pictures this morning......

Mum has been choosing fabrics for her Rose Stars and has nearly finished another.

I have completed an online work related induction tonight .

Happy News !

I have some good news....
Yesterday I went for a job interview.......this morning I had a phone call..... saying I got the job.
Yay!
Induction day is next Tuesday.
So, two happy day's in a row.

Mum has been burning the midnight oil...........lol.
She has finished 7 Rose Star blocks.

I think it's going to be a very nice quilt.
It will blend in with the other EPP quilts she has done in 1800's reproductions.

This is my favourite .

I like the brightness of this one.

The middle of this came about because I cut the wrong shape.
So Mum now has a pretty fussy cut centre.

And the purple one!

Mum came over just before lunch and we did some cleaning out in the sewing room.
I was looking for something and I did eventually find it.
But I can't find my Apple Core template so I had to make another.
I have traced 2 pages of papers for the Apple Cores , I have run out.

I have chosen some fabrics to make more Diamond Hexagons , so I will cut them tomorrow after I get back from town.
I need to buy some clothes for my new job.
I will be working at Safeway Petrol.
Totally different than a Patchwork shop, but a " change is as good as a holiday " they say.

The girls layed 9 eggs today.

Some Pig-Face in flower.

Until Next Time.

What's In The Mail........... Today !

Last week I left a comment on Laurie and Polly's blog.
Their new range  Independence Trail had just been delivered and they showed some of the fabrics.
Drool......
I love their fabrics, and have either fat quarters , charm packs , layer cakes and jelly rolls of at least 6 of their ranges.
Now I will just have to wait until the new one is out.
Now... they were giving away a bag of left overs after making samples...... and I won !!
I just couldn't believe it.
Laurie must of thought I was mad.

Today I recieved them in the mail.

Beautiful blues....

Gorgeous reds.....

Taupe and creams......

And an array of shapes and off cuts.
I'm a very happy girl.
Now I can add some of these to my Apple Core quilt.

Today was as busy as the last two.
Sorting fabrics today and trying to find the right spot for them.
Sue will be having a big opening sale.
Lots of end of bolts ( and I mean LOTS ) and many reduced fabrics too.
She has to make room for new arrivals.

Today Mal set up the sign out the front.
It looks very nice !

Below are the Blood Lilies.

The leaves are starting to pop up.
They get very big too.

I have stitched on one hexagon tonight.
Slack I know.

The girls layed 6 eggs tonight.

Until Next Time.

Day Two.......

  ......... of setting up shop.
It is slowly getting there.
I think by tomorrow it will start to come together more.
We were both hot, sweaty and feeling quite grubby by the end of the day.
I hope it's not as hot tomorrow.

This is the entrance to the church.
The little lobby thing.
I think it's going to look good.
Don't the window's look nice?

DH and I have had a busy afternoon with appointments and some shopping to fill in time until Zac's drum lessons.
So Zac and I didn't get home until after 7.30.

No sewing tonight either.
I have been sitting in my armchair with my feet up reading.

The girls layed 10 eggs today.

Reading Tonight

Well , after a trip down some back roads ( that I have never been on ) I finally got to the church.
I was beginning to think I wasn't going to get there. Lol.
It took me just over 50kms.
Sue is planning to open at Easter, so not long to go now.
The church is not as big as the old shop so it is taking a bit of brain power to place things around.

Here is one of the windows......
More tomorrow......

Well no sewing today
I have been reading.......

The girls layed 7 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

It's That Time Again.........Yay !!!

Today was our monthly Sunday sewing day.
As we don't have anywhere to meet anymore , a few of our group met at my house and we had a great day out in my shed.
I cut out another Rose Star.

A pretty rosy one.

I also got out my hexies and basted 2 diamonds.

This is how much I sewed tonight while DH was having a sleep before night shift.

I go back to work tomorrow.
I think we are just setting up to re-open.
I will find out when I get there.....
Update tomorrow.

The girls layed 8 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

St. Patricks Day

After a little Saturday morning sleep-in , DH and I put 5 more chickens in the freezer.
We still have a few to do.
We also did some weeding and DH mowed the grass.

DH has taken the boys to the speedway tonight ( it is not my cup of tea )

I have done a heap of washing tonight , cooked a cake , vacuumed and watched some t.v.

No sewing though.

The girls layed 8eggs today.

My 300th Post

I can't believe that this is my 300th post.

Time sure does fly.......

Today , very early DH and I dropped the boys at school because DH had some blood tests.
He had to fast , so that is why we went so early.
We waited and waited........I had time to sew a whole middle of a Rose Star.
I got plenty of looks , but not one person asked what I was doing. lol.
They must of thought I was mad.

We did a bit of this and that around the house and we made a double mix of cookies.
We shouldn't have , because now we have to eat them......

The boys school photo's have come home and they are very nice.
They are already in their frames.
I just keep adding the new photo every year and keep all the other photo's in the frame too.

We were going to go camping tonight , but with the rain we have had we didn't want to sit on a wet riverbank.

The girls layed 10 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

More Rose Stars

Rose Star no.4 done.

I may even add it to the others tomorrow.

I cut out this one today.

And cut this too.
And basted it.
It's a bit bold but I like it.

I have been reading too.

It is raining quite steadily outside now.
I didn't think we were going to get any rain but it started about 5pm tonight.
I'm glad I didn't put the sprinkler on the lawn.....

Mum has finished 2 of her Rose Stars.

The girls layed 9 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Busy Sewing

Mum has finished her 1st Rose Star block.

Pink's , brown's and cream.

And I cut out another block for her.
The middle bit is basted that's why it looks weird.

I have nearly finished another Rose Star too.
Photo tomorrow.
I have also been sorting out strips that have been cut for years.
I had this huge pile of pink and pinkish strips cut for Bonnie Hunters Scrappy Bargello.
So today I worked out how big I wanted to make it and counted out the strips.
All 400 of them.
Then I counted out the strips for her Many Trips Around The World too.
I do have one block made for that .
So now I have two more quilt " kits " ready to sew.
I must be mad.....
And I have been unpicking all the quilting on the baby quilt too.
All those missed stitches......OMG.......it takes forever.......
I'm a little cross with my machine at the moment.

The Blood Lilies.

They have all opened up !

The other day I showed this photo.

Well these are the lighter pink ones.
The leaves will come after as well.

The girls layed 7 eggs today.

Until Next Time.

Blooming....

Today I woke up feeling much better than I did yesterday.
I still have a headache though.
Thanks for all the  "get better " wishes.

Out in the cactus garden, another beautiful mauve flower has blossomed.

Look at the little ones growing on the side.

Mum reached breaking point and has given in to the Rose Star.
Lol.

As I didn't have any 2" hexagons for her she is using the 1 1/2" hexagons.
Mum is digging through the 1800's reproductions for her Stars.

I marked and cut a heap of pappers for her and basted one whole star.

This actually looks better in real life.

I have done some sewing on my Rose Star blocks but not much.

Zac had music tonight.

The girls layed 6 eggs today.

Until Next Time.
