What I Did Today

Some washing.
Did a few errends in town.
Went to work.
Did some shopping after work.
When I got home ......
With both hands full I stepped over a fallen walnut , but didn't see the next one.
I now have a very sprained ankle.
It hurts.

O.K enough feeling sorry for myself.

I did get tea ready and the boys did help me.

Now I have my foot up and I'm relaxing.
Lucky I don't have to go to work until Monday.

No sewing tonight I have been reading.

Happy Anniversary....Baby !!

Today is our 14th Wedding Anniversary.
Time sure does fly...

This morning DH pottered around out in the garden and glasshouse.
He divided the strawberries and replanted them.
We planted some belladonna lily seeds that we collected from our plants. ( lets hope they grow )

Our tomoto plants are growing nicely in the glasshouse.
So it won't be long before we have some to eat.
The cucumber plant has cucumbers everywhere.

Our ducks having fun in their little pond.

We don't see them out much.....they like to hide in their house.

The girls layed 3 eggs in the last 2 days.

No sewing today either.....

Bowling .....

Another no sewing day today.
One of those annoying in the middle of the day shifts again.

DH and I had a bowling competition on the wii.
I won 3 games out of 6, and we drew one game.
It's probably the only one I'm good at ( I'm not very coordinated )

Then we took Zachary to music lessons.
We also got noodle takeaway for tea as we won't be able to go out to tea for our Wedding Anniversary tomorrow.
We both have to work.
So we celebrated early....

I might even get some sewing done tomorrow.....if I'm lucky.

The eggs didn't get picked up tonight.
Oops....

Homemade ....

Just another working day today.

After the little jobs I had to do after work , I called in to DH's mums as DH was there waiting for work colleagues to look at his step dads old cars.
Very old rusty cars.
I don't think they will take on the challenge of trying to restore any of them.

When we got home Zachary decided to make the sausage rolls that DH and I were going to make.

And they tasted so nice.
Today in cooking class they made pizza pockets.
He always brings a bit home for us all to try.
It was very nice too.

DH sold 21 chickens and 8 roosters today .
So we only have our hens plus a few for DH's friend that wants some when they move into their new place.

No sewing again today......I'm very bad.

Chicken Round-Up ...

Today has been a no sewing day.

Grandma came over when I got home from work and watched the football with us.

At half time , the boy's and one of their friends helped us round up the chickens ( sounds funny I know ) and then sort them out , as someone is coming tomorrow to buy some.
We have to down size before we go to Darwin at the end of June.
As we have to rely on people to feed them when we are away , we don't want that many left.

It's A ....

 .... quilt top !
I really love this fabric...

It always seems that one of the colours ends up on one end.
Why ?
I will experiment with a jelly roll one day and just sew them together as they come , all lovely and colour coordinated and see what happens.

Mum did finish something yesterday and I forgot to share.

A lovely single bed quilt top.
Now I just have to quilt it.

Such pretty fabrics !
Now I have to find some backing fabric......

I'm really tired.
I don't like these early morning starts.
I really love my 2 extra hours in bed that I normally have.

It was drizzling again this morning when I got up.
It didn't last long enough though.

Well I picked up Zachary from his friends house and Mum took Jacob to his friends house on her way home.
So it's just Zachary and I tonight.
DH is at work again.

Blog Anniversary

Today is my first blog anniversary.

The big pile of fabric from yesterday has nearly been sewn together.
Just 2 more seams to sew.
It will have to wait until tomorrow though.
I have an early start at work , so it will have to be after .
I should have something to show tomorrow....

We woke to rain this morning , which was very nice.
Not enough rain though.
I shouldn't complain , but a bit more would have been nice..

Zachary is in town with a friend from his class.
He went straight there from school .
So it was just Jacob and I for tea tonight as DH is at work.

Just Can't Help Myself

The makings of another quilt....

A Rouenneries Deux by French General jelly roll.
Just making another race quilt.
I have started to sew the first seam.
I will try and get out in the sewing room tomorrow after work and do some more.

DH's mum came around and picked up the chickens that we hatched for them months ago.
So that's that many less we have to feed.

Bendigo Day Trip

Look!!
I did take a photo of Grandma's beautiful flowers.

Grandma was very surprised with her flowers.

Today DH had his MRI scan in Bendigo.
I stitched while I waited.
I haven't quite finished the hexie yet.
After , we did some shopping.
Then I got to visit a Patchwork Shop.
I was a lucky girl.
A few more pieces to add to the hexie stash.

We got home to late to get the eggs tonight.

92 Today

Grandma, Mum and I had morning tea today to eat leftover cake.
So we had a little Birthday celebration today as well.

Grandma recieved a beautiful bunch of flowers today from my cousin in Adelaide.
I will take a photo tomorrow.

I didn't sew today either.
....Reading again.
I had a late shift tonight and closed.
Just having a nice cup of tea before bed.....

DH and I are off to Bendigo tomorrow .

Birthday Time Again !

This morning I did some sewing with some like minded friends.
I basted a rose star block and finished basting the next hexie diamond that I started while waiting at the doctor's.
I also started sewing the hexie's.
And we talked quite a bit too....

The afternoon saw me cooking  chickens and vegie's for tea.
We had an early Birthday celebration for Grandma for her birthday tomorrow.
She will be 92.
We all had a great time.

As most people of her generation......she made her own cake.
She probably didn't think I was going to....which makes me cross.
Chocolate cake with rose's from the garden for decoration.
She also made 2 sponge cakes too.
We had so much left over.

 She looks o.k for a 92 year old.
She is getting very frail too.

Sleep In

We got to have a sleep in this morning !
I didn't get up until 9am.
It was divine.....

DH and I mucked around outside this morning a bit , and I did a heap of washing too.
It piles up doesn't it?

Mum came over in the afternoon and we cleaned up the sewing room.
It was a bit of a mess.

Nothing Again ...

I just have to complain about my aching feet !
I finally got to sit down at 8pm tonight.
I'm stuffed.
I am looking forward to a sleep in tomorrow.

I have read the local paper and new quilt magazine tonight and not much else.
I have also been channel surfing , because I can... ( DH is at work so the T.V is mine ! )

I hope I can get to sew something tomorrow.

A Working Day

I have had one of those work in the middle of the day , days.
So other than the essentials , nothing was done.

I have been watching T.V tonight as well as reading a bit.

I have finished "The Last Boyfriend" by Nora Roberts.
Now I have to wait until November for book 3.
Oh , well .....the way the year is racing by , it won't take long !

So no sewing today.

Organizing ....

I  haven't sewn anything today , but did finish ironing my prairie points.
So it was quilt related.

Mum and I built some shelves for my walk in cupboard and have reorganized it.
So stuff is now off the floor and much easier to get to.

Thanks to everyone who has wished DH well.
He recieved his results today from last Monday's camera down the throat.
He has three ulcers and a hernia , which they can fix.....but only in Melbourne.
Bugger !
Looks like more trips to the big smoke.

Zachary had his drum lessons tonight and Jacob spent a couple hours with a friend.
I let the Colonel cook us our tea tonight.....very nice too.

The girls layed 6 eggs over the last 2 days.

The roses are still going strong , I'm sure when it's time to prune them I will be cutting off roses.....

To Melbourne And Back ...

in one day , is very tiring.....
DH's appointment went well.
The doctor thinks it was just a migraine episode but he is having an MRI just to be sure.

I basted 10 hexie's while we waited at the doctors.
That is all the sewing I have done today.
As I'm not clever like some of my friends who can sew in the car.

We got home just before the first quarter of football had finished.
Carlton are playing so we have been watching the footy.

The eggs didn't get picked up tonight as it was dark when we got home.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

To all the mothers on this Mothers Day.
I hope it was a day to remember.

Another 5am start.
Toast for breakfast ( which I made myself )
Then work until lunch.....
Which was roast chicken and vegetables.
Thank you Grandma for a lovely lunch.
As DH is at work , the boys had leftovers and I cooked myself some more toast.

I have stitched some of my rose star block today.
And read some of " The Last Boyfriend " by Nora Roberts.

Zac and I are playing on the wii , bowls and tennis.

So Cold...

It was a chilly 5 degrees as I drove to work this morning.
And as it is still so very cold still now , I'm not looking forward to tomorrow morning.

After work I got the last 1/3rd of the top finished.
Now I just have to wait for some fabric to finish the rest of the top , so I can get stuck into the quilting.

I so love this fabric !

A little sneak peek at what I have been doing today.

Folding and ironing prairie points.
I'm using Vintage Modern by Bonnie and Camille.

I am 2/3rds through my quilt top.
So , it didn't get finished today....
Tomorrow after work I will try to get the rest sewn.

Mum did finish her top.
I'm so slow.....
Mum's top is using Butterscotch and Roses by Fig Tree Quilts.

I have finished reading "The Witness" by Nora Roberts.
Very good book........all her books are.

It has been a little bit colder today.
And at the moment it is freezing outside.
Could be a frost in the morning.
And I have to get up at 5am too.

Another Beautiful Day

The weather has been so nice today.
But I suppose Winter will come soon enough.

Mum and I have been sewing our quilts today too.
We both hope to have the tops finished tomorrow.

I Did Sew Some Today...

Some progress....

I sewed a few more on while I was having breakfast.
It should be a finish tomorrow.

Before work ,  DH and I sorted out some chickens that are going to his Mum's.
After that DH burnt some dried grass and weeds around the place , it was a bit hot in the sun for our dear old dog.
So he rested in the shade.
It was a very nice day today , even if I spent most of it inside.

I did another walk around , taking photo's.

Reading Again.....

DH was a lucky boy and got called in 2 hours early for his procedure.
So there wasn't much waiting for me when I finished work.
So I only managed to sew a few hexie's.
DH was also relieved to not be given any anaesthetic ( it makes him sick ) they only gave him something to relax him.
He said it was the wierdest feeling , having the camera down his throat ,but it was better than vomiting.
Other than our outside jobs , and getting tea ready , we haven't done anything other than watch t.v.

I have been reading too......

I'm halfway through The Witness by Nora Roberts.
I think I have read all her books and some of them twice.

A Sneak Peek

After a lazy Sunday morning , I did manage to get out to the sewing room.

I have been doing some sorting and organizing and working out quilts for my Etsy shop.
I have a pile of fabric ready to sew.
Wednesday is the day to start.

I have also been basting hexies.

Here's a little sneak peek of what it will look like.
I might get some sewn tomorrow as DH is having a day procedure done and there may be waiting involved.......lol.

I am down to 2 children again.
